Definely Selected by Department for International Trade for Black Tech Founders Trade Mission

Definely is in New York!

Our founder and CEO, Nnamdi Emelifeonwu, has landed in the US along with 11 other entrepreneurs to take part in the Department for International Trade’s UK Black Tech Founders Trade Mission.

"It’s an incredible privilege to be chosen as a delegate by the DIT and to have the support of the British Consulate General in New York and British Airways. It is an honour to be selected alongside other incredible start-ups, and it's particularly great to see Robin AI, another LegalTech startup, also in the cohort." said Nnamdi.

The DIT & British Consulate Trade Mission

The trade mission is an initiative from the Department of International Trade and the British Consulate General in New York to showcase the best of Black-founded British innovation.

The twelve unique technology firms touched down in New York after a safe and smooth flight with mission partners, British Airways, ready to engage with over 100 US-based venture capitalists.

“We are delighted to support these talented innovators to develop their networks and elevate their profiles on an international scale,"  Sean Doyle, British Airways Chairman and CEO

Why is the trade mission important for Black founders?

With the current lack of racial equity in venture capital funding, the mission aims to facilitate the cohort as they explore the US tech ecosystem and provide a platform to network with New York-based investors and the wider NYC community.

‘I am delighted to welcome this impressive group of Black founders to New York, who represent some of the most innovative emerging tech firms in the UK.’
Emma Wade-Smith, Her Majesty's Trade Commissioner for North America and HM Consul General for New York

Definely in the US

We’re incredibly proud Definely is flying the flag for British Legal Tech in the US. Hailed as a company ‘‘well-positioned to expand into US markets’ by the British Consulate-General in New York, the mission marks the start of Definely’s US expansion. With the highest density of lawyers in the US, we can’t think of a better place to kick off than New York!
